So I got to the lab portion but the moment I enter any rooms after the one with the camcorder in it my monitor crashes and restarts repeatedly, but if I back out of the room it stops. (PC stays running so IDK what's happening, but it restarts like it got turned off and on again since I can hear the power off noise)
That adds on to my primary complaint which is that as soon as I start the game my entire setup starts to roar, I don't know if its personal setting in the game or an optimization issue, but it happens regardless of if I set all of the setting to their lowest.
Aside from that the gameplay was alright for what it is, but Id like the option to rotate items in the inventory to optimize placement, and maybe add an "Inventory Full" message since I had been collecting every healing item and battery which left me with no room for the camcorder at the end.
My main complaints beyond the issue in the first part is that its hard keeping track of how to deter the cultists beyond don't be seen, Thorn I get; but maybe adding a notebook section or something where the deterrent method gets added after you learn it or read the corresponding note would be nice (Along with a drawing or illustration to identify them)
For a gameplay suggestion (Please take with a grain of salt), make it so that you have to have a diaper in inventory when you need to change one of the cultists. I don't know if that's in the works already, but it would give a reason for them to be littering the area beyond aesthetics but add a bit of a crunch factor if you can't find any.
Regardless the update was great for as far into it as I could get without worrying about my equipment getting damaged, keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing what the future of the product looks like.
was trying out the spoopfest and managed to get through the first area but then fell out of the map and lost immediately after, ill wait till the save is fixed to give it another try but it was a very promising demo!
loved the newest experience and the reward is veeery pleasing, only had problems with saves but other than that it was great experience, tho with this many NPC running around I'm curious if they'll be unique death screen/animation to each of them or if they'll be more friendly NPC's trying to help you out
I wanted to do a face sitting animation with thorn and rea (the protagonist fox) but it lapsed this update as we already added a huge amount of content from 2.1 to 2.2.
Oohhh now you got me hooked up for future releases even more! I can't wait to (un)accidently die to her and see it in action, also very curious on what animatons you'll give to other characters, especially Meg, Ginny and maybe force feeding animation for bella? Definetly would suit her lol

Save games will be coming back as I had it working in test versions of 2.2 and I know what needs to be done to make them available again.
I think a big problem is the game encourages you to rush through the 1st mansion while trying to avoid thorn and look at her walk backwards when she she spots you which gets old and that it takes no time at all for cultists to knock you out from full health.
Thorn is getting her numbers nerfed and she will back off herself when getting stared at for a few seconds. I do want to allow ways to either go over 100 percent or increase max hp
Just finished a playthrough. Very cool ending but… yea, game is definitely still ‘Alpha’ right now. It’s a really good showcase for the characters and world you’re building (into something much larger than a single mansion I assume?) and it demonstrates some cool interactivity and gameplay. I’m REALLY excited to see how you build off of these systems.
In particular, I can’t wait to see diapers (the one the player is wearing at least) be a part of actual gameplay. So many ABDL games have come and gone with diapers feeling only like decoration (with BITTER few exceptions), but here? You already teased an incremental accident system some time back here: https://x.com/HodgePodgeDL/status/1639853475176538113 which I really hope evolves into an actual part of gameplay.
I can already imagine how tense it might be to be hiding in a locker or a box from one of the enemies, and being mostly safe, until -because you neglected it (as I doubt a 'holding system' is on the cards)- you end up having an accident and giving yourself away. Or, neglecting to change (because you’ve put it off, or don’t have a spare), which leads to one (or more, depending if all of them can snoof your / other used diaps) of the cultists track you down.
IDK, I’m just a freak who loves stuff like this. I can’t wait to see this project develop further in the future. I wish I could support you and this project beyond purchasing it and all your other things, but for now I shall contain my excitement and be patient... for now.
Yeah, you having accidents is eventually going to be a thing to manage and is going to either harm or help you depending on the situation. But it's out of scope for this build and the polish build that is going to follow.
Two slight ideas (assuming they haven't already been considered), but if a 'holding' mechanic does become part of the game, it could be interesting for them to be more than a 'hiding' thing. Firstly, if the holding button was on the other side of the keyboard (like L for WASD) it'd kinda stimulate it being 'awkward' to do, kinda how it is in real life (ignoring the possibility for people to just rebind it or something lame). Secondly, given that being stinky/soggy is (I imagine most of the time) a detriment and makes you more obvious, the trade-off of holding it could mean moving slower -more so depending on how close you are to going- and/or being unable to interact with anything (because your hand/s are elsewhere). IDK if you even want a holding/desperation like system in this game, considering it is more-or-less about brain-drain and AB than anything omorashi. I'm just excited to see something like this, and it makes me want to suggest things (which I know is more unhelpful than not, I just can't help myself >:) ).
Well, there was talk about our own version of a holding breath sequence to avoid alerting a occultist from a strange noise but good implementation was always a issue and I would rather focus on fleshing the existing mechanics players are currently dealing with on a more moment to moment basis.
Yep, no point inventing something new (or digging something up from the grave) when other mechanics are already there and have the opportunity to be played with and seen by other players. It's absolutely the best thing to do right now (at least by my stinky opinion), I'm just super excited about what could be to come and I can't help but gush about it.
i have a problem, when i save the game and Thorn kill me, i go back to the main menu and want to load the save game. But it is not loading :( only what i got is a black screen
save game is not working in this build as i need to go forward and program a few things so it's storing save data correctly. Right now it just loads a black void.
Spoopfest build was rough around the edges but I definitely had fun figuring it out. The reward at the end was very cool although I wish there were more camera controls and that there was a POV view.
Firstly, the lighter should autoquip to the hotbar like the other lightsources. It was annoying starting every run doing that until I figured out where to go and no longer needed it. Also it sucks and I'd recommend a better way to limit it than just having a poor radius. Maybe only being able to use it for a few seconds at a time (with a cooldown) or something?
The hints should be made more prominent as I only noticed them a while into my first successful run. Also I'm not sure if the equippable candle is in this build.
Everyone else has said it but the enemy in the first part is a real pain to avoid unless you know the trick. Unsure if the lockers were much help because they were too fast and pretty much an instakill to an unaware player. Not sure about the second enemy in that area as I managed to sneak past them without issue.
The other enemies were fine as they were slower and it was easier to get into a hiding spot.
Doors should have visual feedback when unlocked because I can see players getting confused.
I think it should be more obvious that solving the vent puzzle opens the door to the next area. It just spawns a bunch of t-posing NPCs and I didn't make the connection until my second playthrough when I was doing a speedrun. Also when you write the push hint text there should 100% be a pushies joke.
There's obviously a bunch of other stuff like the item interact texts being mostly wrong and a large part of the second part being unfinished (nothing interactable upstairs and the asylum area with the pig is mostly just a few hidden items with some cool décor) but that's not really a big issue atm.

I did go over your notes and found them agreeable. The hscene at the end is going to get more animation work and have multiple camera angles options other then the 360° default. The equipable candle is in that build and you need to open up your inventory (in a spot away from thorn) and combine it with the lighter. I think making the lighter just about useless other then candles interactions was a mistake. It and the lantern are getting buffed. The reason it didnt get hotkey was the original '1' hot key was going to be a different item that sadly had to get cut to honor the deadline. I will let you guess what item that was. As you discovered the second area while it looks good needs some further tweaking and player guidance.
Also, one last thing. It wasn't initially obvious to me that you could read examined papers by pressing the E key. I just assumed that it was all pictogram based until a bit into the game.
I know it's always listed at the bottom but maybe put "press "E" to read this!" on one of the first pages or something?
I don't know why itch.io keeps glitching out on users like that. You still have it purchased despite the web page bugging out on your ownership. Anyways the halloween 2.2 can be downloaded for free under "demo"
Thank you! However, I don't know where the Master Key went in this building because I've lapped the mansion countless times and could never find where it is hidden. Is it still in one of the nurseries, or has the location for the key been moved since then?
There are actually two instances of it. The easiest one to find is by completing the maze game at the back left of the mansion. That will open the door with the picture of a tiger girl done by bubbles pup.
Would it require you to find the common key to open that door? Unless it is hidden somewhere obvious and I'm just incredibly blind, but I don't exactly know where the common key is hidden.
Sorry if I am asking a lot of questions, but I am not sure if I am missing something obvious during my playthrough
I was a bit too evil with this one as it's VERY easy to overlook even with the ginny note stating a key was hidden in this room. I might move it and I am going to give offer a 2nd placement for the key since it's far too early of a stop gap for players.
Right now its stare at her and walk backwards to lose her aggro. She is getting her deserved nerfs one where she will back off just by getting stared at for too long. the other cultists are getting buffed.
My main complaint with the current build and previous ones, are how random and annoying Thorns AI is. Sometimes she just rushes you down, others she'll stop when stared at. On top of that, she is INSANELY fast. I get that this is a horror game and she's supposed to chase you, but she's inescapable, and if she doesn't stop when stared at, it's a guaranteed game over. At the very least, make her slightly slower than the sprint and add in a stamina bar.
She has a messing mechanic. If she needs a change, she will charge you aggressively. Just press 'E' when next to her. It's still risky, but it puts her back into the weeping angel type behavior where she stops when you are looking at her.
Yeah, she is getting nerfed across the board. I am slowing her down, making her hit less hard and making her completely ease off once you stare her down for a few seconds rather then forcing the player to ease off themselves while looking at her. I am keeping her difficult but she is considered over kill right now.
I personally don't find her too too hard. I agree she could use a bit of a nerf, but the only thing that really bothered me with her so far is that sometimes she will have another accident right after you change her.
I had her in her aggressive mode chasing me, so I let her get close enough to change her. Then I was only able to back a few paces away before she had an accident again and resumed chasing me. So, perhaps a delay should be added that prevents her from messing right after she is changed? Either way, it's still an interesting experience.
Yeah I plan on keeping her difficult but she does have some rough corners that need to be shaved. The accident system currently allows cultists to mess and wet a 2nd time zthe tldr means there are 2 counters at around 3 to 4 minutes that are always counting down and can over lap like you experienced.
The aggro when she needs a change is a recent addition when I found her too easy and predictable and that issue is an easy enough fix for the next patch.
A bit of an update, I managed to find the keys, but there seems to be an issue. The master key is single use, but there are multiple doors that use it.
Yup, That issue is known and is not intentional. the doors that use that key need a flag to not consume the key on use. as is with some items being mislabeled on the text prompt when you pick them up. quite a few have the diaper pack prompt and I haven't prioritize it yet as I want to make sure the final area plays well and isn't needlessly cruel since Thorn is already really pushing it.
The other known issue is there are a few objects that need flags corrected for the save system to work as built. That will likely be ironed out a bit after Halloween since it has always been extremely fickle.
Is there supposed to be any kind of "prize" at the end? I managed to get down to the restroom but found not much else (other than a certain familiar tall girl)
My one complaint is that I feel like the save system needs to work(it keeps giving me a black screen when trying to load) , or else the game is extremely difficult.
the save system doesn't currently function, there's still some issues preventing that. As for the difficulty, I imagine being able to load from a saved position will help.
Just a heads up. One of the doors that opens with the common key has two doors in the frame. One will unlock, the other doesn't unlock. I somehow manages to get two common key and one of the doors will not open with it.
It's the room closest to nursery room with the flashlight. I do understand it is still an alpha, but I figured I would let you know regardless. Great work as of yet.

Got a pretty crappy PC, can't even get the game to load- any tips on how to fix that? The loading bar gets about 1/6th of the way through and then it freezes, so IDK if it's really a graphics thing...
You did a grate progression from the 2.0.3 to 2.1, developing a game is quite demanding for the time you spend on it, so, congratulation for your progress but, I have my questions.
For the accident system, you will add sounds when one of the cultists wet herself?. And, you will add sounds when you/they change their/your diaper? like diaper crinkle and diaper tapes sounds.
Idk if is already added in previous versions but, our main character will have integrated the accident system and we must change ourself or ask a cultist or passive npc to help us?
I Downloaded the 2.1. Am I missing something? I get spawned on the elevator floor with passive enemies. Am I supposed to do something to access more of the game? I've already looked through the doors.
The 2.1 is currently 6 stages with passive NPCs. The focus was on updating every single character model, expanding the accident system and lipsyncing then optimizing the game so it takes less space and runs better (minus ginny's area which is currently getting improved)
Hostile enemies and larger areas are coming back in 2.2.
I'm loving the games progress so far. Though in this update when inside Ginny's Complex, it's destroying my framerate for some reason. (18-34fps) Everywhere else it's golden. (100fps+) On previous versions Alpha 2.0.2 and Alpha 2.0.3. I never encountered this problem.
I disabled shadows in that area and it helped and went up to 36-54fps. Though it was still very erratic between those two numbers, so not smooth.
Now I have two kinda beefy rigs and get almost max settings on both. In game it ranges from 108-120fps and 128-144fps in 4K depending on which PC. It's just Ginny's Complex where it drops below 34fps.
I'd also like to ask if there be character/s more focused on watersports vs scat? Like if some prefer one over the other? Just curious.

That's one of the known issues with the build actually.
The lighting was updated on Ginnys mansion however two of the prefabs received bad settings causing performance issues. I recently corrected That and rebaked the whole scene. it will be less demanding next release.
trying to download Alpha 2.0.3 and it’s not working. I don’t know why I’m downloading it. I have zip seven and I open it in there and I tried to press the game and it says system error code extraction can proceed because unity player dill was not found and I don’t know what

Didn't include but a minimap would be nice as well, not a major thing but it does get a bit difficult navigating at times

There is a key in this build called the "Mysterious Key." What is that key supposed to do or unlock?
It was used to be used to say hello to meg but we decided it was only fair to reward the player after they made it pass thorn.
It will become useful in later as a reward next update so keep it's location in mind but it's not a requirement for clearing the mansion.

Would it require you to find the common key to open that door? Unless it is hidden somewhere obvious and I'm just incredibly blind, but I don't exactly know where the common key is hidden.

I was a bit too evil with this one as it's VERY easy to overlook even with the ginny note stating a key was hidden in this room. I might move it and I am going to give offer a 2nd placement for the key since it's far too early of a stop gap for players.
The maze game doesn't work. I can pick up the marble, but it doesn't use it on the maze board.
works fine on my end you just pick up the marble and put it in the start area to play
having the same issues as everyone else, also how exactly does one combat thorn? the other one is easy, it's weeping angel mechanics.
Right now its stare at her and walk backwards to lose her aggro. She is getting her deserved nerfs one where she will back off just by getting stared at for too long. the other cultists are getting buffed.
iv tried playing and i haven't found 1 key yet , and OBJ dont update correctly past "lighter sucks"
Yeah, gonna wait 'till y'can get saves working, that's the biggest gripe at this point.
Also the objective seems to get stuck on "The Lighter Sucks, light a candle" and beyond that, *shrug*
Yeah thats getting fixed next update. We treated the halloween as a challenge build so save states and clear objectives weren't a priority

2.2 is listed under demo. Its completely free.
My main complaint with the current build and previous ones, are how random and annoying Thorns AI is. Sometimes she just rushes you down, others she'll stop when stared at. On top of that, she is INSANELY fast. I get that this is a horror game and she's supposed to chase you, but she's inescapable, and if she doesn't stop when stared at, it's a guaranteed game over. At the very least, make her slightly slower than the sprint and add in a stamina bar.
She has a messing mechanic. If she needs a change, she will charge you aggressively. Just press 'E' when next to her. It's still risky, but it puts her back into the weeping angel type behavior where she stops when you are looking at her.

Yeah, she is getting nerfed across the board. I am slowing her down, making her hit less hard and making her completely ease off once you stare her down for a few seconds rather then forcing the player to ease off themselves while looking at her. I am keeping her difficult but she is considered over kill right now.
I personally don't find her too too hard. I agree she could use a bit of a nerf, but the only thing that really bothered me with her so far is that sometimes she will have another accident right after you change her.
I had her in her aggressive mode chasing me, so I let her get close enough to change her. Then I was only able to back a few paces away before she had an accident again and resumed chasing me. So, perhaps a delay should be added that prevents her from messing right after she is changed? Either way, it's still an interesting experience.
Yeah I plan on keeping her difficult but she does have some rough corners that need to be shaved. The accident system currently allows cultists to mess and wet a 2nd time zthe tldr means there are 2 counters at around 3 to 4 minutes that are always counting down and can over lap like you experienced.
The aggro when she needs a change is a recent addition when I found her too easy and predictable and that issue is an easy enough fix for the next patch.
It doesn't seem that I can get the 2.2 version. Itch.io is only letting me have Alpha 2.1 and the old build files.

A bit of an update, I managed to find the keys, but there seems to be an issue. The master key is single use, but there are multiple doors that use it.
Yup, That issue is known and is not intentional. the doors that use that key need a flag to not consume the key on use. as is with some items being mislabeled on the text prompt when you pick them up. quite a few have the diaper pack prompt and I haven't prioritize it yet as I want to make sure the final area plays well and isn't needlessly cruel since Thorn is already really pushing it.
The other known issue is there are a few objects that need flags corrected for the save system to work as built. That will likely be ironed out a bit after Halloween since it has always been extremely fickle.
Is there supposed to be any kind of "prize" at the end? I managed to get down to the restroom but found not much else (other than a certain familiar tall girl)

My one complaint is that I feel like the save system needs to work(it keeps giving me a black screen when trying to load) , or else the game is extremely difficult.
the save system doesn't currently function, there's still some issues preventing that. As for the difficulty, I imagine being able to load from a saved position will help.
a LOT of the items are mislabeled, and I have not quite found any keys yet, but the new ai is awesome!
I am so glad to hear that. The AI was a huge priority this update.
Just a heads up. One of the doors that opens with the common key has two doors in the frame. One will unlock, the other doesn't unlock. I somehow manages to get two common key and one of the doors will not open with it.
It's the room closest to nursery room with the flashlight. I do understand it is still an alpha, but I figured I would let you know regardless. Great work as of yet.

yup. That room had a duplicate door that was causing issues with that room. It has since been fixed.

Got a pretty crappy PC, can't even get the game to load- any tips on how to fix that? The loading bar gets about 1/6th of the way through and then it freezes, so IDK if it's really a graphics thing...
The game is quite demanding and requires a up to date PC.
You did a grate progression from the 2.0.3 to 2.1, developing a game is quite demanding for the time you spend on it, so, congratulation for your progress but, I have my questions.
For the accident system, you will add sounds when one of the cultists wet herself?. And, you will add sounds when you/they change their/your diaper? like diaper crinkle and diaper tapes sounds.
Idk if is already added in previous versions but, our main character will have integrated the accident system and we must change ourself or ask a cultist or passive npc to help us?
Yes, player accidents and changing is getting expanding on and coming back in the Halloween update.
I Downloaded the 2.1. Am I missing something? I get spawned on the elevator floor with passive enemies. Am I supposed to do something to access more of the game? I've already looked through the doors.

The 2.1 is currently 6 stages with passive NPCs. The focus was on updating every single character model, expanding the accident system and lipsyncing then optimizing the game so it takes less space and runs better (minus ginny's area which is currently getting improved)
Hostile enemies and larger areas are coming back in 2.2.

I'm loving the games progress so far. Though in this update when inside Ginny's Complex, it's destroying my framerate for some reason. (18-34fps) Everywhere else it's golden. (100fps+) On previous versions Alpha 2.0.2 and Alpha 2.0.3. I never encountered this problem.
I disabled shadows in that area and it helped and went up to 36-54fps. Though it was still very erratic between those two numbers, so not smooth.
Now I have two kinda beefy rigs and get almost max settings on both. In game it ranges from 108-120fps and 128-144fps in 4K depending on which PC. It's just Ginny's Complex where it drops below 34fps.
I'd also like to ask if there be character/s more focused on watersports vs scat? Like if some prefer one over the other? Just curious.

That's one of the known issues with the build actually.
The lighting was updated on Ginnys mansion however two of the prefabs received bad settings causing performance issues. I recently corrected That and rebaked the whole scene. it will be less demanding next release.

trying to download Alpha 2.0.3 and it’s not working. I don’t know why I’m downloading it. I have zip seven and I open it in there and I tried to press the game and it says system error code extraction can proceed because unity player dill was not found and I don’t know what
You can't run the game within 7zip. Please extract the game folder to your primary hard drive and run the .exe from there.
Trying to download the strip club demo and the alpha 1 trailer just redirects me to download the 2.1 Alpha, is there something I'm missing?
