Soggy Horror July Devlog


Hey all,

Despite often getting stuck with 45-50 hour work weeks, development on Soggy Horror has been crawling along and I am still on target for a nice alpha 2 update this Halloween and I will be releasing an art-pack at the end of the July before I leave my state for 3 weeks for training on new devices I will be servicing for my main job. Said artpack includes 3 versions of this teased picture and the messy alt of the Bella bouncer that was used on the Halloween build's cover.  I will also do my usual sale at the end of the month and have it last all during August to help all of our efforts on building and supporting the game. 

Although the small alpha 1.2 has all the content that I aimed for at this time, I am simply not comfortable releasing it in it's unpolished state especially when I will be away from my development desktop for the 3 weeks I will out of state for training. I am really sorry to those that have been really wanting to play the update, but it just wouldn't be right to release a untested build that I couldn't patch at all till my return 3 weeks later.

During July I have been continuing to flesh out on each of the main characters background and been giving them man of them outfits for their lives outside of the cult that you as the player can discover during your trip on the island. In addition to this, I have added two additional model bases for a unreleased cultist and a thrall that wants to make you a permanent guest to the islands nursery and a bunch of prop work including a new stroller, walker and a bunch of plushies. I have also made a few additional tweaks to the game's graphics engine and I began adding in some of the low poly version of the meshes when they are far away from the player for better optimization.
